Two months and a week plus

Our GP suspected cataract (Congenital cataract) for Avni as the GP couldn’t see the red disc when she examined Avni’s eyes during her eighth week check at our local surgery. We were given the earliest appointment available at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead Heath, London. Eye tests came out fine. We were told that dark eyes may not show red disc as they absorb all light!

She can recognise people now.
She smiles at us a lot.
She enjoys her baby gym which has music and co-ordinating flashing lights. She focuses on those objects hanging from the gym. aims and hits them. she goes happy to see the object moving when she hits it. Looks at it until it stops.
She talks! She says something like coo, aghoo, ohah and what not, but says it, gives a pause for us to say something and then says again as if she is replying or continuing the conversation. Her smile during such a conversation is divine.
She knows who gives in to her attention seeking cries. my mother.
She is falling into a pattern. Not completely routine driven yet, but she is showing a pattern. She sleeps through 6hours some nights.
She is trying to roll over.
She can hold her head for sometime, but she still needs support.
She received a special gift from Katherine Reece, sent over from across the pond. Kat crocheted these blankets and sent them over by paying a fortune towards postage! What a special girl Avni is!
After seeing all the toys, my mother commented that she didn’t have any money to buy any toy for her daughter. Her daughter didn’t play with any toy!

    So relieved her eyes are fine – I must remember that red disc and dark eyes fact if anyone queries it with Little Planet. Good that it was checked out properly though.

    Are you able to take short video shots of her with your camera? You could upload it to the Vimeo site and link to it here. It would be lovely to see ction shots of her trying to roll over or playing with her baby gym.

    So sweet. She looks every bit Balan. He must be mighty proud about that.

    And congrats on clearing the exam though I don’t exactly know what exam that was. Avni sure has at least one role-model handy.

    She is a clone of Balan! The cataract thing should have been really scary, good everything turned to be fine. Saw Avni’s photos on flickr, she is absolutely adorrrable! And she is already trying to rollover? Nikki did the rollover only in month 4.

    PS… I forgot two things.

    First – the cataracts thing must have been scary!
    Second – I agree, when do we see a photo of you with Avni? 🙂

    Sudha, Tiny is good. Handling is better. She weighs 5kilos now. (she was 3.17 when she was born).

    @MG, thanks
    @IBH, thanks.
    @a, when are you going to come out of your mask? 🙂 Mom is fat and ugly. she refuses to pose for photos. 🙂
    @Planethalder, I was surprised that GP who is a pediatrician didn’t know about dark eyes! As you said it was good that it was checked out properly.
    I have been taking some videos after you mentioned (forgot that such a technology existed!). Will try to upload and link, as it requires some work (converting the files to MPEG format) before uploading.
    @Dadoji, I am pretty upset that she has got nothing from me. particularly about her hair. She is a bald baby. I am very upset about that.
    It was ITIL exam on IT service management.
    (Avni is crying. will come back to finish this).
    Dadpji, I think I am hardly going to be a role model for her. I will be happy if she doesn’t hate me.

    @Anitha, She has lost her excitement of rolling over attempt after all failures and have stopped it now. She couldn’t have rolled over anyway as her head was not steady. She can hold it steady now. She is into exploring now. She touches the objects and explores them.
    @Michelle, thanks. Your gifts have arrived today. Thanks a lot. Thanks for remembering the mum too. 🙂 Little princess sends her thanks. 🙂
    @Asha, thanks. She is a pinkie, isn’t she?.
