One hour photo

Smiling moments are captured and preserved for future references. Referring it later or by others at anytime, disguises the non-smiling moments, more importantly the crying/unhappy/angry moments. Someone working at the one hour photoshop counter must be thinking that how happy their life is when he/she looks at your/our photos.

This was the concept of the movie “One hour photo”, as told by the voice in the begining of the movie. (Similar to the concept, the movie also cheats us and turns out to be a different kind of movie.)

Blog is smiliar to a “One Hour Photo shop” counter. Even if at any time any author tried to express their real feelings, we only receive strong objections that we are forced to show only the smiling moments. Fake smiles are accepted here, but not the real tears/angers.  Disguised ids serve better there, I agree, the-visitor, I agree.

I agree. Totally! When disguised, I guess expressing your thoughts comes more easily. Plus, you are not bothered much about the comments. The anonimity does help 🙂 Unfortunately, I am not following it or should I start to… Am still confused!

    Vidya,

I am not following either. read these for “identity” issues.

I am not going to be anon/disguised_id. not yet. Nothing has convinced me yet. Sure I might lose certain friendship for saying what I say openly in blog. I have the option totally left to me 1)don’t say it 2) don’t worry about the relationship. I follow 1 sometimes and 2 sometimes. eventually, my personality comes out. Having been and being a blunt person I am, it only does me good when I chose option 1 atleast now and then.

There is another big issue about the amount of information we give out in the internet.. this arguement has a valid point. I am still thinking….

But this (one hour photo) post was mostly about my previous (Desi aversion) post. 🙂

Frankly, Prema, I am tired of entertaining such people in real life, so why the hell should I bother about such similar online extentions as well?

Btw, how does this sound; simply delete the offending comment (well, it IS offensive to you, right?). AND don’t forget that it’s your blog afterall! 😉

Instead of making yourself anonymous, make those ‘friends’ of yours as one!

I agree to the point of giving away information on the net. But still being anonymous or under a pseudonym am not still convinced about that. Its not that we cannot handle what we do not want to have in our site. We can still delete the comments that we do not want to have and its after all your blog. You have the right to have what you have there. Did we invite the reader—NO! So why should we bother here.

Also, as for relationships, I have seen one thing; no matter what, there are only few people who would remain as friends and make that genuine effort to understand you and appreciate the relationship and put the effort to understand why you said something in the first place. So I have sort of grown out of that syndrome of not being blunt to save a relationship. Whom are we cheating here? Its ultimately ourselves for they are friends to the real me. But the nice talk me. And that’s actually not me at all. (You get the drift?)

But I more than being blunt most times (because people want me to be the sweet talk person right), if I do not like something have a tendency to ignore (that’s better than the sweet talk for there is no talk here) and stay away. Guess that makes me the passive kind. Whatever, Works for me.

And as for your previous post(Desi Aversion)—I agree 200% 🙂

Exactly, Vidya. But then again, being supposedly ‘passive’ opens up another can of worms.

But then again, not that we care much, do we? 😉

This is what I do all the time. 🙂 I am learning to not to do it these days. 🙂 I am learning to go passive. I do not think I can sweet talk at all, since i don’t agree with it in principle, so i can never sweet talk. Passive sounds alrigh to me these days.

// Instead of making yourself anonymous, make those ‘friends’ of yours as one! //

Going passive keeps them coming back to me. I had one such a “friend” for quite sometime and I really had trouble getting rid of that person, as I practised “passive” everytime and everytime I hated it and that person. I am learning. I have meet halfway. 🙂
