A very nice thing to do. How does she feel about this? I hope she realises this is not a geeky thing. But if she enjoys this and wishes to to continue…I hope you caution her on things she needs to watch out in the wide web world.

I think you should encourage her to learn since kids are getting exposed to technology at an early age today. Also educate her on the danger of conversing/sending emails to strangers. There is this dateline NBC show where they trap the net predators – doesn’t hurt to show one of those episodes (she seems old enough) to educate them about the dangers. That said let her enjoy the joys of technology – Kids have no preconceived notions/baggage so they are much more natural in adapting to technology.
